Person-Centred Counsellor

Find Balance with Andrew Westcott

Hello. My name is Andrew; I am a person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. My experience centres around people experiencing bereavement and loss. My expertise in Pre-Bereavement supports people having to cope with the challenges and uncertainties of the impending death of a loved one. I also have experience with sudden loss, such as losing a loved one to a murder or suicide, and the devastating impact it can have on friends and family. My practice is based in Brixton, London.

About Me

As a person-centred Therapist, I champion the power of giving a voice to how we are feeling- from owning the fact that we are hurt, to embracing a moment of happiness- and as a result, accepting it is our vulnerabilities that makes us human. Having a background in the theatre and arts, where the emphasis is often on being perfect and seeking the approval of others, has allowed me to see the same dynamics are often present in our everyday lives; notably, never feeling good enough, to feeling worthless and unlovable.

How I Work

I provide a warm, safe and accepting space where you choose what you need to talk about and process. The practice facilitates an environment where you work at a pace that feels right for you, in effect you will be leading the session, yet I will be alongside you every step of the way. The process will not involve direct questions, instead I will be enabling you through your worries and concerns, for you to gradually discover answers to those issues that interfere with your everyday life. It can often be a painful and frustrating journey; however, with my support and your perseverance, you will begin finding answers to those long overdue questions. I work in an open ended way. Sessions fifty minutes. Fees: Standard fee £60

Concessions £40
